Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is the most important method in thermal analysis. It measures the heat flow to or from a sample as a function of temperature or time and thereby allows physical transitions and chemical reactions to be quantitatively determined. Lauded as the fastest commercially available DSC, the Flash DSC 2+ is ideal for studying rapid crystallization and reorganization processes, and able to operate at temperatures from -95 to 1,000 °C. These ultra-high cooling and heating rates have considerably progressed the study of thermally induced chemical processes and physical transitions, allowing the study of the crystallization and reorgantzaiion of a range of materials including metals and polymers like never before.

Fast Response Sensor – The Flash DSC 2+ uses a MultiSTAR chip sensor, allowing the sample to be placed directly onto the sensor itself. Measurements can be performed with minimum noise level at high heating and cooling rates, due to the unit’s patented dynamic power compensation control circuit. Two MultiSTAR sensors (UFS 1 or UFH 1) are mounted onto a stable ceramic substrate with electrical connections, allowing the Flash DSC 2+ to offer a range of analysis options. The state-of-the-art instrument can easily analyze reorganization and crystallization processes which were previously difficult or impossible to measure. The Flash DSC 2+ is the ideal complement to conventional DSC for characterizing modern materials and optimizing production processes by thermal analysis.

User-Friendly Ergonomics and Functionality – Ease of use is at the core of the Flash DSC 2+, with the unit designed to handle both the preparation and insertion of samples from a comfortable sitting position in front of the instrument. The sample is cut to size first using a small glass microscope slide that is then placed over the sensor. The sample can then be transferred directly onto the sensor itself and accurately positioned using a hair.

New FDSC Analyzer Software V1.0 beta test – Recently our staf developped a new embedded software for automatic data analysis of fast calorimetric data. It is now possible to automatically make data analysis and to quickly estimate all the quantities of interest for standard measurements carried out with the fast DSC. Click here for details >>>
