The Proteox MX450 is a cryogen-free dilution refrigerator with a cooling power of 450 microwatts at 100 mK and a base temperature of 10 mK. There is a wide sample space at the 10 mK plate, with an available diameter of 360 mm.
The dilution refrigerator is currently equipped with 3 normal coaxial cables (for up to 18 GHz) and 4 superconducting coaxial cables (for up to 18 GHz), and two DC wire looms, each with 24 wires, one reaching the 10 mK plate and the other reaching the 3 K plate. There are also two single-mode optical fibers reaching the 10 mK plate.
A second, exchangeable insert is available, allowing the preparation of a different experiment while running measurements.
The cooldown time from room temperature to the base temperature is around 30 hours.
