Fluorescence Super-resolution Microscope – Nikon STORM 5.0 Location: Department of Physics, building B, lab 8 - Via Largo Pontecorvo 3 Lab head: Prof. Francesca Cella Zanacchi Contact: francesca.cella@unipi.it Book the lab Price list The super-resolution system Nikon STORM 5.0 provides a reliable single-molecule localization microscopy method to achieve super-resolution images (lateral resolution ~20nm and axial resolution ~50nm). The system employs total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF), highly inclined and wide-field illumination for single molecule detection. Software allows single-molecule localization, image reconstruction and post-processing (STORM rendering and trajectories analysis). Applications > Intracellular proteins distribution (nuclear factors, cytoskeletal-associated proteins, molecular motors, focal adhesion complexes); > Membrane proteins nano-organization and clustering; > Intracellular transport studies and molecular motors imaging. Technical specifications > Microscope: ECLIPSE Ti2-E with Perfect Focus system; > Max resolution (detector): 2304×2304 pixels (16bit), 6.5 µm x 6.5 µm pixels; > Stage: High resolution motorized stage (TI2-S-SE-E) with linear encoder ; > Sample holder: Universal adapter for Petri (35-60mm), slides and Labtek; > Time lapse: ND acquisition ECLIPSE Ti2-E.
