EXCITATION SOURCE
The instrument can detect up to 11 parameters simultaneously (9 fluorescences + FSC + SSC). Three lasers are installed, spatially separated: Blue 488 nm (20 mW), Red 640 nm (40 mW), Violet 405 nm (40 mW).
ALIGNMENT
The presence of spatially separated lasers ensures low background noise and low compensations.
OPTICS
The instrument is equipped with a Reflection Optical System.
MINIMUM PARTICLE DETECTION SIZE
Thanks to its high dimensional resolution and high sensitivity to fluorescence parameters, the BD FACSMelody instrument can easily distinguish fluorescent particles with a diameter of 100 nanometers (0.1 microns) from background noise.
ELECTRONICS
Completely digital for signal processing and data acquisition. Up to 40,000 events/second can be acquired on eleven parameters. Resolution: 262,144 channels on all parameters with digital sampling.
